Tour de Freaks…Sneak Peek! Introducing the Occasions Mini Catalog! FMS217

freakwelcome2013

Hello and welcome to the Tour de Freaks!  You are either a regular subscriber or have just arrived here from Wendy Weixler’s wonderful blog post…or should I say Wickedly Wonderful?!  Didn’t she have some fabulous ideas?!  That’s why I love this group so much…always inspired!  I have not done a blog tour in so long!  I had some extra time this month…I know, shut up!  Who has extra time during the holidays?!  Well, I was ahead of schedule with my shopping and my swaps and it just worked out!  So, I’m touring this month!

There are so many wonderful things in the new Occasions Mini catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochures!  It was so hard to decide what to get!  One little stamp that stood out, though, was the STINKIN’ cute little lamb on pg. 24 kind of tucked in there with a bunch of other stamps.  I fell in love immediately and had to have it!  I figured you could do Easter, baby or spring.

My first card is my swap card for Control Freaks…so this is a sneak peek for all my freaky friends in the swap! If you don’t want to have things spoiled, DON’T LOOK!  I had this idea that the lamb would look great stamped on Crumb Cake paper and then colored in with the chalk marker…I was right!  I also wanted to add just a little shimmer/shine, so I added some of the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush over the top of the lamb.  I could not get that to photo, but you can see it in real life and it adds just a fun POP of shimmer to the lamb’s fleece.  I kept things simple because I wanted the lamb to take center stage and not be outdone by busy DSP or other embellishments.  Here’s my swap:

Stamp Set:  Easter Lamb

Ink:  Black StazOn, Memento Black, Markers:  Chalk, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Basic Gray, Wild Wasabi

I needed a baby girl card next.  So I just kept right on going with the Easter Lamb and chose some feminine DSP, some shimmer from Stella and a little lace to dress it up.  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #217 to create this fun little card!

  1. Such a cute card. At first I thought you had used bleach, but the white chalk is certainly less messy. I too have not bought this stamp set, but will probably do so now that I’ve seen what you have done with it. Thanks.

  2. I love how you have done that little lamb – charming on the kraft and wonderful patterned paper. Love the little lace bow on the baby card. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

  3. Bravo you made me want this stamp! Quick question, did you color in the stamp with your markers and then stamp onto the crumb cake, or did you color in the image after? Also where on the card did you use the Black StazOn? I’m a new demo & would love to create a version of this.
