CCMC136 A Sketch

This week’s Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge is a sketch.  I love it!  This will be one I go back to often.  Thanks to Mary for creating it!  Since it is Sale-A-Bration time at Stampin’ Up!, I wanted to use one of the sets for this year.  It is called Bliss.  I love the vintage feel of this set.  I also really seem to be into the blue/brown kick lately…even painted my bathroom Baja Breeze with Chocolate Chip accents.  So, not surprising I went with the same type of colors in my card for this week.  Ok, let’s reveal the sketch:

AND, if you can believe it…I left it alone!  Yep, I used it just like Mary created it!  That might be a first for me!  LOL!  And now…my card…I’m very pleased with how this turned out!  One of my personal favorites!  I think how it was created is pretty self explanatory, so I’ll just list the recipe below the card.  ENJOY!!

Stamp Sets: Bliss (Sale-A-Bration), Just Believe

Ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist pad and marker, Whisper White Craft

Paper: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Marina Mist Patterns DSP

Accessories: White Organza ribbon, pearls, various circle and scalloped circle punches, circle scissors, sponge daubers, spritzing tool,       dimensionals

  1. There is nothing about this card that I don’t love. It is so beautiful, Lisa! The ruffle-y (yeah, I’m making up words) ribbon and the butterfly..how romantic and gorgeous! Not to mention the colors are spot on. Did you create the ribbon or did you but it ruffled?

  3. Beautiful card I love how you have used the soft suede and Marina Mist and combined the two stampsets. The ruffled ribbon is a perfect match. Did you use the sponge daubers to colour it?

  4. The ribbon was created by coloring it with markers (it is white ribbon) and then pulling a thread to ruffle it. Elaine, I’ll be doing a class in the spring on special ribbon effects and this technique will be included in that class.
